Desensitizer
The industry-leading desensitizer, wetting agent and disinfectant with chlorhexidine.
Hemaseal & Cide
Hemaseal & Cide is highly recommended for treating dentin to minimize sensitivity and post-operative sensitivity related to restorative treatment.
An aqueous solution of chlorhexidine and HEMA, designed to be used as a desensitizer and as a wetting agent before composite bonding procedures and cementations. Hemaseal & Cide is applied as one layer, covering the dentin before bonding.

When performing restorative procedures, Hemaseal & Cide offers numerous benefits, including:
- Elimination of post-op sensitivity – precluding the need to do “remakes”, saving time, money and grief.
- Superior disinfection of preparations
- Enhancement and prolongation of bond strength
- Reduction of micro-leakage
- In many cases, eliminates the need to perform root-canal therapies
Uniquely formulated and effective
Hemaseal & Cide's four per cent chlorhexidine content eliminates microscopic voids that may lead to pain. Applying Hemaseal & Cide after etching and before applying dentin bonding adhesive can help patients remain comfortable while experiencing no sensitivity or soreness.
The chlorhexidine content causes Hemaseal & Cide to be more wettable and helps preserves dentin bonds – 90 per cent of which will otherwise fail within five years.
Chlorhexidine is an excellent antimicrobial. Combined with Hema and water, additional mechanical abilities are present. The chlorhexidine molecule is linear with dual positive pole charges and is attracted to the negatively charged tooth. The combined solution infuses the dentin bond zone for maximum coverage and effectiveness.
